Messier 33, The Triangulum Galaxy

M33 is a member of our local group of galaxies, 2.8 million light years away. It's half the size of the Milky Way with only one tenth as many stars. M33 lacks a central bulge and doesn't seem to have a central super-massive black hole. The rate of star formation is higher than the Milky Way or Andromeda.
